Bikers Benefit Heart of Hope!
The Third Annual Rolling Radiant Thunder Motorcycle Rally was
held on May 16 & 17. This year’s rally was to raise funds
for Heart of Hope- A Sanctuary for Women. With the skies not
looking too well, and the forecasters not giving us much hope, we
proceeded with all our faith in our Heavenly Father. The Rally
would go on!!
In spite of the questionable weather, we had 160 people register
for the rally. At one count there were 200 motorcycles that showed
up at Heart of Hope. A rough estimate of the people who attended
was 500. There was live music and a DJ playing music during the day
and lots of food to ease the hunger pains. We had several vendors
for all the riding apparel one would need, and even a sno-cone to
cool one down from the heat and humidity.
Miracle 89.1 did an awesome job of keeping those faithful
listeners informed about what was going on during the day as well
as getting the message of Heart of Hope out to those who may not
have known about us. Dan, Paul and the crew are to be commended for
hanging in there all day long with all those bikers.
The concert featuring Eddie B. was incredible. The ministry
which Eddie oversees is called "Conviction Ministries". Not only
does he sing he is also called to minister to this hurting world
through his testimony, especially to those who are incarcerated.
This ministry is nation-wide and has been very effective in its 17
years of existence.
Earnie Gibson from Cotton Valley, La. won the 2008 Harley
Davidson Soft-tail Deluxe. Billy Stockton from Shreveport won the
Mini-Chopper. There were many door prizes and a silent auction.
Proceeds from Items sold also benefitted Heart of Hope.
The Board of Directors attended a special Heart of Hope Service
on June 14 at Radiant Life Church to receive a check in the amount
of $17,000. This will be added to the $1,303 already given to
them from the Ministry of Rolling Radiant Thunder.
We look forward to continuing our support of Heart of Hope. God
bless and thanks to all for making RRT III a great success!

Showers of Blessings from the storm!
As you may remember, Heart of Hope sustained significant damage
to the gymnasium during a severe storm two days before our annual
banquet in February. I am happy to report that remodeling of the
gymnasium is approximately 50% completed. When fully finished, we
will have a new roof, electrical system, lighting, flooring,
ceiling tiles, and painting. God has taken a "tragedy" and turned
it into a blessing! We are currently working with a commercial
appraiser and banks to secure the best possible financing package
for the Heart of Hope main building. It has taken longer than we
hoped, but we know that God's timing is PERFECT! We hope to have
everything in place to begin construction in June, with a
completion date still set for December 2009.
